SMF Cycles' Internship Program

SMF Cycles Sponsors Local Teen for Internship, May 2009

For the second consecutive year, SMF Cycles has offered a scooter to a local teen in return for a summer internship with the company.  Jordan Chastain of Newnan, GA was the lucky High School student who will start his sophomore year with a cool new ride.

Chris Schreiber who is the owner of the cycle shop located at 15 Jackson Street in Historic Downtown Newnan stated, “The goal here is to build a sense of responsibility, showing the student that hard work pays off in the long run. They have to dedicate their time, show up on time, work hard and receive a reward at the end of the summer.”

Because SMF Cycles was in transition this spring, renovating and relocating to the Newnan area, they were unsure as to whether or not they would be able to offer the Intern Program this year.  “Jordan would just show up every day or two, striking up a conversation and just seemed genuinely interested and we thought he would be the perfect candidate, so we spoke to his parents and they gave their permission and Jordan was here the next day.,” says Mr. Schreiber.

The day before school started, Jordan received the keys to his new 50cc scooter.  “I feel very proud of him,” stated Mr. Schreiber “he worked very hard and is very deserving of it”.

New applicants for the summer of 2010 can apply at SMF Cycles beginning next May.
